"If you can help change someone's life, why wouldn't you do it." -Becca.
When FRF was founded with a friend and a heart to feed children, I don't think even we knew the power and impact of food on a child's life. We just knew kids deserved to eat.
From founding FoodRaising Friends (FRF) and seeing food's impact, I make it my mission to advocate for the needs of children in my community. Not every child is well fed, and those who aren't don't always tell someone they are hungry for fear of rejection or embarrassment. Sometimes kids don't even know help is available.
That is why FRF exists; we feed children with the help of caring people in the community. FRF works directly with school and program personnel, providing resources to children identified as food needy. There is no barrier at FRF between a child and access to the food they need.
I am passionate about children getting through their childhood fed and allowing that to propel them to be their best selves alongside their family and community. My three children will never know a world where FRF does not exist, and while sometimes I wish it didn't have to, I am so glad it does. Our team makes a difference in children's and families' lives with the simple gift of food.
To know me is to know my passions. I truly live for this work because I believe in the difference the gift of food makes in a person's life. Changing people's lives for the better truly makes any community a better place to live for you, your children, and those you serve. If we meet, expect to hear more about childhood hunger and a call to action from me to you. When I am out, I typically gather new friends to support the mission of FRF or other excellent opportunities for change in my community. I also spend a fair amount of time chasing around my children and husband. My passion is advocacy, mentoring, and pursuing speaking opportunities to inspire and encourage others. I also love attending conferences, workshops, and any event that teaches me more about my community, world, and how I can help.
